Barbara Robbins founded Mykonos in 1982. The original location was the small stand-alone store in the Chadds Ford Inn parking lot. Originally it sold fur blankets imported from Greece, hence its name.
After seven years and much deliberation and updating of product, the now successful little craft gallery was moved from its 350 square foot location to a 750 square foot store in the newly built Glen Eagle Square. As Mykonos continued to grow, it moved its location within Glen Eagle Square. It now occupies an even larger space and continues to prosper.
Eventually Mykonos added clothing to its inventory. Later with the addition of shoes and leather goods, this "craft gallery" evolved to the eclectic boutique that it is today. Mykonos has succeeded by keeping its product lines interesting and unique, and by providing excellent customer service. In our continuing effort to keep up with the times we have opened a virtual store and promise to offer the same good service that we have offered in our physical location. Thanks to all our customers for their continued support.
